Fixator Assisted Soft Tissue Repair

FASTR® Surgical Framework & Education

A structured way to plan and stage complex limb preservation cases — taught through faculty-led lecture and cadaver training.

A framework for limb
preservation and function.

FASTR® is a clinical methodology that helps physicians work through complex limb cases with greater structure—coordinating stabilization principles, soft-tissue considerations, and staged procedural planning in a way that makes sense for how these cases actually unfold.

FASTR® is an educational and procedural framework. It's designed to support clinical decision-making, not replace it. Treatment decisions always rest with the treating physician.

Limb Preservation Surgical Education

Advanced surgical
training for clinicians.

BlueOcean Global is committed to elevating surgical education in limb preservation — offering structured, faculty-led programs that translate FASTR® principles into hands-on clinical skill.

Course Overview

This physician education program focuses on surgical principles and techniques used in bone transport–based reconstruction for complex limb preservation cases involving soft tissue deformity and defect of the lower extremity.

Through scientific lectures and hands-on cadaver training, participants will review structured approaches to staged reconstruction utilizing gradual osseous transport techniques within accepted reconstructive surgical practice.

Educational content emphasizes reconstructive applications including:

  • Bone Transport
  • Management of deformity associated with reconstruction
  • Structural stabilization supporting soft tissue defect management
  • Reconstruction in septic or compromised tissue environments
  • Surgical workflows supporting limb preservation procedures
Intended Audience

Surgeons involved in complex lower extremity reconstruction:

  • Foot & Ankle Surgeons
  • Orthopedic Surgeons
  • Podiatric Surgeons
  • Reconstructive and Limb Preservation Specialists

Recommended for surgeons with experience in reconstructive lower extremity procedures seeking advanced exposure to bone transport–based reconstruction.

Educational Objectives
  • Review principles underlying bone transport reconstruction
  • Review staged reconstructive strategies for deformity and defect
  • Understand structured workflows supporting limb preservation
  • Participate in cadaver-based procedural education
  • Develop reproducible approaches to complex reconstruction cases
Morning
Scientific & Clinical Lectures

Educational sessions addressing planning principles, biologic foundations, and reconstructive decision-making in complex lower extremity cases.

Afternoon
Cadaver Laboratory

Hands-on surgical training focused on bone transport techniques and reproducible reconstructive workflows. Faculty provide real-time operative discussion and technical perspective.

Enrollment is intentionally limited to support direct faculty engagement and hands-on procedural discussion.
